TRA COMMUNITY HALL

The Community Centre has now been officially handed over to the TRA and will become known as the Community TRA Small Hall.  We have the hall to July 2025. It is unlikely we will be given the hall beyond July. The new committee will update you accordingly over the next month or two.

During 2025 the Tenant Participation Team have spoken to the Committee about a new hall. Although advised of the location parts of the jigsaw still had to be fitted into place. The hall is fully compliant, only requires a new 600mm cooker from our understanding. The hall maybe shared with other TRA's. In June the hall offered has been confirmed as Denyer House  just a 5-minute walk from our estate. During our talks John and Kevin felt it would be best for the new committee from mid July to make a decision about the potential new hall.

The Spanish Nursery will continue to operate as normal of which we have no access to and are both separate entities of each other.

The TRA-Hall-1 in the community centre is closed for any bookings as the building is having a review of fire safety, legal issues to be resolved, a new disabled toilet to be build, survey reports pending, etc.. No date for opening for the TRA has been given.

Camden Council instructed plans to be drawn up to bring the two halls to required building regulations. The TRA and other stakeholders have been giving input. We are now awaiting the final plans and costings that could be upto £150K. No time frame has been given when the works will start and of how much of the proposed works will be granted. The final proposals have been submitted to Camden and we are awaiting final feedback. The committee todate have not been given a copy of the final proposal although this has been requested.

Upgrades to include updated kitchen that will be disabled friendly, new disabled toilet, new men’s/lady’s toilets and become a self-enclosed unit. The hall may still be let out to another organization. The Spanish Nursery is still open as normal.

The hall cannot be rented out for the foreseeable future for various reasons, including no disabled toilet, pending building works, etc.. However, click here to be able to rent a space at Ackland Burleigh School nearby.

Till then you can still contact us by using the Contact Us  or post a letter to the community centre addressed for the TRA.

Please continue to check the website, newsletters and notice boards for current updates as they occur.

The photo below shows the entrance walkway to the TRA Hall and installed in April'25. The planters are likely to be relocated to other parts of the estate once final plans have been decided upon re the new TRA shared Hall late July/August.
