Community Improvements
Improved children's play area fencing
Summer 2025 Our Local Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) grant was approved. The purpose of the CIL grant is to install a new 3M high fencing and two 3M high entry/exit gates. This is due to continued anti-social behaviour (ASB). A planning application has been submitted.
Our ward councillors commissioned a survey in January 2025 and one of the problem areas on our estate highlighted in the survey was the ASB in the children’s park and other parts of the estate.
The TRA survey asking if the estate would support a new 3M high fencing at the front of the children’s park to stop ASB was completed during the month of December 2024 are as follows:-
165 units on the estate, 75 responded = 47%
Of the 75 that took part 70 said yes = 93% for fencing to be installed and 5 objected = 7%
Bin, planters and bench
Early 2025 a new bin was added to the dog area which is the open green space opposite Acland Burghley School. We request all users to use the bin for litter.
In winter 2025 a new hedge will be planted along the inside of the perimeter fence of the dog area. The hedge will be a mix of native trees suitable for the area with no thorns or plants poisonous to dogs. The trees come free thanks to the TCV The Conservation Volunteers and will be maintained to the hight of the railings by the TRA supported by TCV.
Thanks to a successful DMC application, which 93% of residents supported we were able to make use of some planters donated by
JFM from Battersea Reach Estate. The planters, bulb planting and a new bench have brightened up Ingestre Road. The planters are looked after by local residents, please do help keep them watered during dry periods.
A cleaner and brighter square
Huge thanks to Wayne Head (Principal Caretaking Manager) and Marc Beecher (Support and Response Manager) for their support in helping us to improve the estate environment. Wayne worked with Marc and his team to jet wash the square and other areas of the estate.
Joaquim Neto (from Marc's team) repaired the raised beds and painted them with the support of Scott Banning.
Wayne has proved to be an invaluable source of support to the TRA and was instrumental in securing funding for the installation of the new 'Kissing Gates' (Fletcher Court)

New Hedging
The eyesore that was has finally gone with the kind donation of hedging from Avondale Construction. Work to clear and plant the hedge was carried out by Pete Hutchings from TVC and workers from Avondale construction.
Plants funded by Dave Black and TRA have been planted by Dave to further enhance the look of this space.

Kissing Gates
installed in the gaps between Fletcher to stop bikes and scooters speeding through and using it as a short-cut. More work is in the pipeline to minimise anti-social behaviour.
